What is HALO® laser resurfacing?

HALO is a hybrid fractional laser, a true laser and the counterpart to BBL's broadband light. Sciton built it to deliver two wavelengths into the same microscopic treatment zone at once: an ablative one that resurfaces the very top of the skin, and a non-ablative one that works deeper, where sun damage actually sits. That pairing is what does the job of a far harsher resurfacing in a single pass.

How much does HALO® laser resurfacing cost?

Is HALO a laser?

Yes. HALO is a hybrid fractional laser, delivering an ablative and a non-ablative wavelength into the same microscopic treatment zone. It is the laser on our menu.

How long is the downtime after HALO?

Expect three to five days of visible downtime: swelling for two to four days, redness peaking around day three, then a bronzed, sandpaper texture that flakes and peels away. Healing varies with the depth of the treatment and with the person, so we plan yours with room to spare rather than to the best case.

When can I wear makeup again after HALO?

Once the peeling is finished. On the second or third day the skin takes on a bronzed, sandpaper texture, then flakes and peels off — makeup goes back on once that process is complete. We will send you home knowing what each day of the healing arc should look like, so none of it arrives as a surprise.

How far before an event should I schedule HALO?

A month, and six to eight weeks if there will be close photographs. The visible part of healing runs three to five days, but sunscreen stays part of the routine daily for up to three months afterwards, and healing varies from person to person — so five days is not the number to plan to. Bring the date to your consultation and we will work backward from it.
