- Is there downtime after a BBL acne treatment?
- It runs on the same BBL platform as our photofacial, with a filter tuned to a different part of the light band, so the days after look similar: some redness that typically settles within a few hours. We ask that treated skin stay out of direct sun for fourteen days afterwards. In Phoenix that is worth planning around, and we will help you do it.
- Can teenagers get BBL acne treatment?
- We treat both teens and adults for acne with BBL. Whether and when it is the right step for a particular person is decided at a free consultation, and for a minor that conversation includes a parent or guardian.
- Does BBL acne treatment hurt?
- Most people find it comfortable. Each pulse feels like a quick, warm snap, and the chilled tip keeps your skin cool. Your skin may feel warm for thirty minutes to an hour afterwards.
- How many BBL acne treatments will I need?
- Usually a short series to start. Sciton, the platform's maker, describes four to six sessions at first, then occasional maintenance visits every few months. How many you need depends on your skin, and we set the plan at your consultation.
- How long does a BBL acne appointment take?
- The treatment itself is quick: Sciton puts it at about ten to fifteen minutes. Plan a little longer for your visit so we can prepare your skin first.
- How is BBL acne treatment different from a BBL photofacial?
- They run on the same BBL HEROic platform with different filters. The acne treatment is tuned to reach acne-causing bacteria in the pores and calm breakouts, while the photofacial is aimed at sun damage, redness and pigment. The days after, and the sun rules, are the same.
- Is the consultation free?
- Yes, always. A consultation here is a real appointment with our nurse practitioner, our registered nurse or one of our licensed aestheticians, depending on the treatment, with no pressure and no obligation.
